 Commercial Administration Officer (One Year Temporary Position)

Role summary:

Reporting to the Assistant Manager the Commercial Administration Officer is responsible to provide high quality customer contact and administration support for the Manager, Assistant Manager, and Commercial Credit Officers. The Commercial Administration Officer also contributes to the promotion, delivery and administration of financial products and services.   

 Specific Accountabilities:

  • Assist the Commercial Loan Department in the preparation of commercial credit applications, including data input, maintenance of filing system, loan audit, and legal correspondence.
  • Prepare monthly renewal documentation for line of credit, mortgage loans, business account reviews including account margining.
  • Assists in the annual audits by aiding external auditors, regulatory auditors, and internal auditors.
  • Prepares commercial loan files to ensure all required policies and procedures are adhered to and file documentation is complete.
  • Ensures all title issues are met and loans are properly recorded. Prepares General Security Agreements for registration through PPSA. Conducts PPSA searches and registers General Security Agreements.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in business or accounting
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial statements
  • Minimum 3-5 years progressive experience in the financial services industry  

Competencies and skills:

  • Highly organized, with attention to detail and the ability to work on several projects simultaneously, meeting strict deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.
  • Proven ability to interpret financial data.
  • Proficient in the use of technology, with emphasis on MS Office including Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and be a team player.
